Earthquake Relief in Haiti 

The Madera United Methodist Church has already gathered and sent money to The United Methodist Committee on Relief or UMCOR. We will be gathering money for the next few weeks as we reach out to those in need. Every penny of every dollar sent for Haitian relief goes directly to that cause. This is because the Madera United Methodist Church is part of the United Methodist Church Connectional System. Our church sends money each year to the Conference and World Wide United Methodist Church

One portion of this Connectional System, is UMCOR. Because UMCOR is already in place and funded you don't need to wonder what percentage of donations to Haiti will go to Haiti. The answer is 100%. To read more about the United Methodist Church and UMCOR, click here: UMCOR
